ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in The Village, OK
Once hail or straight-line wind has passed, we inspect each roof plane, chalk every bruise and creased tab, and photograph what we mark. You learn what the storm broke, what was simply age, and which repair will keep water out of your home.

Storm damage is easy to miss and easy to misread
Hail rarely leaves a hole you can see from the yard. A hailstone usually bruises an asphalt shingle, knocking off granules and cracking the fiberglass mat underneath. The shingle looks fine for a season, then the exposed asphalt dries out under UV and the crack lets water reach the deck. Wind works differently. It lifts tabs, breaks the factory seal strip, and creases the shingle at the nail line so it can no longer lie flat.
Not every dark spot or curled tab is storm damage, though. Blistering, thermal cracking and granule loss from age look similar to an untrained eye. We tell them apart before anything is repaired, because a fix aimed at the wrong cause leaves the real problem in place. Central Oklahoma's spring hail and straight-line winds make this check worth doing after any serious storm, even when nothing is dripping yet.
What our storm damage repair covers
Slope-by-slope damage mapping
We chalk-mark hail hits and wind creases on each roof plane and note how many fall inside a test square. That count shows whether a slope needs spot repair or full replacement.
Shingle and seal repair
Creased, torn or missing shingles are replaced and hand-sealed so the new tabs bond to the course below. Loose tabs that are still intact get resealed instead of torn off.
Flashing, vents and pipe boots
Hail splits rubber pipe boots and dents metal vent caps, and wind can pull step flashing away from a wall. We replace or refasten these parts, since they are where storm leaks most often start.
Decking check under damaged areas
Where shingles come off, we look at the plywood or OSB for soft spots and nail pops. Wet or delaminated decking is replaced before new underlayment goes down.
Gutter and soft metal inspection
Dents in gutters, downspouts and drip edge help confirm hail size and direction. If the gutters were bent or pulled loose, we can repair them as part of the same job or through our gutters service.
Photo documentation
Every damaged area is photographed with a marker for scale. You keep the photos for your records or your insurance claim.
Signs your roof took storm damage
Granules collecting at downspouts
If coarse dark grit washes out of your downspouts right after hail, the shingles have likely shed part of their protective surface.
Dented vents, gutters or AC fins
Hail that dents soft metal around your home struck the roof with the same force. These marks are the simplest clue to check from the ground.
Shingles in the yard or tabs flipped up
A missing or lifted tab means its seal strip has released. The neighboring courses can peel back further in the next strong wind.
New ceiling stains or attic drips
A water spot that shows up days after a storm often starts at a cracked pipe boot or creased shingle, which may sit several feet from the stain.
Dark, shiny circles on shingles
Round patches where granules are gone expose bare asphalt. These bruises crack and start leaking as they age in the sun.
How a storm repair job runs
- 1
The first phone conversation
Tell us the date of the storm and anything you spotted, like grit at the downspouts or a new ceiling stain. We pick a day for the roof visit that works for you.
- 2
Roof walk and diagnosis
We inspect every slope, the flashing, vents, gutters and the attic where it is reachable. Storm damage gets sorted from ordinary wear, and we photograph both so you can see the difference yourself.
- 3
Written findings
You receive a line-item list of the damage and our recommendation, including a straight answer on repair versus replacement. If you open a claim, that same record is ready to hand your adjuster.
- 4
Repair day
We cover landscaping and siding, strip the damaged material, check the deck, then install new underlayment, shingles and flashing where they are needed. Before we leave, a magnetic sweeper runs over the lawn and driveway to catch stray nails.
What drives the price of a storm repair
Your cost follows what the storm actually broke and what turns up once damaged material comes off. Replacing a few creased tabs and one split pipe boot is a short job. Hail bruising across several roof planes is a much bigger project. Each item is listed on your written estimate, so you see the full scope before any work begins.
- How much of the roof was hit
- The number of damaged slopes and shingles moves the price more than anything else. A few wind-lifted courses cost far less than hail strikes on every plane.
- Matching your existing shingles
- An older or discontinued shingle line can be hard to source in the same color and profile, and tracking down a close match takes time. In some cases the better result is reshingling an entire slope so the repair blends in, and that widens the scope.
- What the decking looks like
- If water has already soaked the plywood or OSB, those sections are cut out and replaced before underlayment and shingles go back on.
- Roof pitch and access
- Steep slopes, high eaves and limbs crowding the roofline call for more safety setup and more hours on the roof.
- Damaged metal and gutters
- Dented vent caps, bent drip edge or crushed gutter runs add parts and labor on top of the shingle work.
Storm damage repair questions
Something not covered here? (405) 704-3659
Will my homeowners insurance pay for this?
That depends on your policy, your deductible and what the adjuster agrees is storm damage. We do not act as your adjuster or make coverage promises. We give you clear photos and a line-item list of the damage, which is what you need to discuss the claim with your insurer.
Can you be there when the adjuster inspects the roof?
Yes, we can meet the adjuster on site if you would like. We point out the damage we documented so both sides are looking at the same hits and creases. The coverage decision still belongs to your insurance company.
How soon after a hailstorm should I have the roof checked?
Within a few weeks is wise, even without a leak. Bruised shingles keep losing granules and cracks spread with each heat cycle. Many policies also limit how long you have to report a storm.
Do I need a full roof replacement or just a repair?
It comes down to how many slopes carry real damage and how old the roof was before the storm. Isolated wind damage is usually a repair. If hail bruising is spread across most of the roof, our roof replacement service may be the better long-term fix, and we will show you why.
What if you do not find storm damage?
Then we tell you so and show you what we did see. Sometimes a leak after a storm is really a worn flashing or an aging pipe boot, which our roof repair service handles. Fixing the true cause is cheaper than chasing damage that is not there.
